Galaxy S23 Ultra Review | Galaxy S23 Ultra Price | Release date 01 February 2023
So
even though there's no major redesign with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. There will be
some big under-the-hood improvements. Such as a significantly faster chip. That
is also dramatically more efficient than last year. A
new 200MP camera sensor, a faster UFS 4.0 storage, a better cooling system, a
faster RAM, a better display, no in house Exynos chip, satellite connectivityand
much more.
But
you see, while these upgrades are greatfor us the end users, they increase the
bill of material for Samsung. Which means it costs more for Samsung to make the
S23 Ultra compared to its predecessor which leaves Samsung with two options.
- · Either increase the
final price to compensate for the increased cost of components.
- · Or sell the phone at
the same price thereby reducing their profit margins.
Now, we have a report from South Korea that reveals which path Samsung is taking with the pricing for the S23 Ultra and it's going to be the latter. Yes, the pricing of the Galaxy S23 lineup is expected to remain the same as last year which means $799 for the S23, $999 for the S23+, and $1199 for the S23 Ultra.
The
report says that Samsung doesn't want to lose its competitiveness with the
latest iphone 14 lineup and hence is reportedly planning to offer the S23 for
the same price as the S22.
However,
it's worth mentioning that pricing information does tend to change at the very last
moment. Even though I personally feel that the prices will remain the same, I
would still advise you to take the report with a bit of salt until we see some
concrete evidence.
Moving
on, for the past couple of years, Samsung has been working closely with various
social media sites to better optimize their phones to improve the user
experience. And that will continue with the Galaxy S23 lineup as well.
Samsung
is working with Snapchat, tiktok, and Instagram to make the Galaxy S23's
advanced camera features available directly within these apps.
Such
as night mode photography, support for smooth zoom, and you can use the
telephoto lens to take pictures directly within the app, you can also capture
portrait video directly from the app and much more.
Plus,
the quality of pictures will remain the same even if you use the in-app camera.
Honestly, this is nothing new because the S22 already offered such integration
but it will be interesting to see where this integration will go with the S23
lineup.
We also have the display information of the S23 lineup. And it's basically remaining the same. 6.8" for the Ultra, 6.6" for the Plus, and 6.1" for the regular.
