 What is Blood ?


 ;  => Blood is a kind of liquid connective tissue or Liquid Connective Tissue



 .  => Some features of blood are as follows-


 1.  Blood is a liquid connective tissue.


 2.  Blood is made up of blood cells and plasma.


 3.  The concentration of blood is five times higher than that of water.


 4.  Blood temperature is 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit.


 5.  The pH of the blood is 6.4 i.e. lightly alkaline.



 ** It is good to know "hemoglobin in the blood", for which the blood is red.



 # Blood components?  => Blood is mainly made up of two components.


 1.  Blood Cell.



 2.  Blood Juice or Plasma.  =>



 There are three types of blood cells.  E.g. -


 1.  Red blood cells


 2.  White particles


 3.  Nucleus

 1) The function of red blood cells: -


 Hemoglobin in red blood cells transports O2 and a small amount of CO2 from the lungs.


 ii.  Protects blood viscosity.


 iii. Hemoglobin and other intracellular substances maintain the balance of acid and alkali in the blood as a buffer.


 iv.produces bilirubin in the blood.


 v. Antigen proteins are attached to the plasma membrane which is responsible for human blood grouping.



 2) The function of white blood cells: -


 i. Monocytes and neutrophils destroy and destroy germs in the process of phagocytosis.


 ii.  Toxic granules of neutrophils destroy germs.


 iii.Granular leukocytes produce histamine which increases the body's resistance to disease.


 iv. Lymphocytes prevent disease by producing antibodies.



 3) The work of the nucleus: -


 i. Reconstructs the damaged endothelial lining of blood vessels.


 ii.  Produces a chemical called serotonin which causes blood vessels to constrict and reduce bleeding.

 Blood donation







 Who can donate blood: Any healthy adult can donate blood.  However, age and body weight must be considered.  Suitable age - men and women whose age is 18-45 years.  Appropriate weight - must be 48 kg or more for men and 45 kg or more for women.




 Those who do not give blood-


 • Those who have jaundice in 3 years



 • Those who have complex blood-borne diseases
